Notice of Intent to Sole Source


The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Patuxent River intends to solicit and negotiate a firm fixed-price purchase order on a sole-source basis with the Gear Research Institute, under the authority of FAR Part 12 (Acquisition of Commercial Products and Commercial Services) and FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b) (Soliciting from a Single Source).


This is a firm fixed-price procurement. Offerors are advised that the initial proposal should represent the vendor's best technical and price terms.


Basis for Award


The Government intends to award a contract to the Gear Research Institute as a sole-source action. However, in accordance with federal acquisition regulations, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement and/or proposal, which shall be considered by the agency.


Any response received by the closing date and time will be evaluated solely to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
