Notice is hereby given that the Columbia County Board of Commissioners is seeking competitive bids for the sale of an abandoned portion of Morris Callaway Road right-of-way/old roadbed totaling 2.77 acres. This property is identified as a portion of Morris Callaway Road from its intersection with Bill Dorn Road continuing south for approximately 1,200 feet all that lies within Columbia County and being the same right-a-way/old roadbed that was abandoned in Columbia County BOC Resolution 16-18 on September 2, 2026. A plat of said parcel can be viewed in the Pre-Construction Manager¿s office at 630 Ronald Reagan Drive, Building A, 2nd Floor, Evans, GA. Sealed bids must be received online via Bonfire at https://columbiacountyga.bonfirehub.com no later than 12:00 PM ET on Thursday, October 1, 2026. All bids received shall be publicly opened, announced and recorded at 2:00 P.M. E.T. in the Columbia County Procurement Office, 500 Faircloth Drive, Building E, Evans, GA 30809, and virtually via WebEx at https://ccgagov.webex.com/meet/gosteen. Columbia County reserves the right to withdraw the property from sale at any time and the right to reject any one or all the bids. If a bid is accepted, the offerror will be responsible for any and all costs associated with the abandonment and sale of the property, including those incurred prior to the bid. The County¿s attorney will facilitate the sale of the property. Good funds must be deposited with the County Attorney¿s office within two business days of a notice of award. Failure to timely deposit such funds shall be deemed termination of the bid.
Bid questions should be submitted to Chris Landers, Assistant Procurement Manager, via the Bonfire portal or email at clanders@columbiacountyga.gov no later than Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 5:00:00 PM ET.
