The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service is inviting applications for the 2027 Emerging Markets Program (EMP), aimed at developing, maintaining, or expanding export markets for U.S. agricultural commodities. This program focuses on fostering collaboration and information exchange between U.S. agricultural institutions and emerging markets by supporting activities that assess food and rural business system needs, recommend ways to improve these systems—including reducing trade barriers—and identify actionable projects to enhance effectiveness in targeted regions. Eligible U.S. entities are encouraged to apply by August 14, 2026, under solicitation number USDA-FAS-EMP-2027. The initiative aligns with the broader goal of boosting U.S. agricultural exports through strategic market development and capacity-building efforts in emerging markets.
