AI Contract Overview

This is a sole source, firm fixed price contract for the procurement of 17 augmentor cases for aircraft, specifically part number 5125T85G01 made from corrosion and heat-resistant AMS5525 steel. Due to the complexity and criticality of the component, the government will only consider manufacturers that have successfully completed required testing by the original design company or on similar items. Aviall is listed as a current qualified source. The requirement includes a delivery deadline of December 1, 2016, and a separate line item for CEMS tracking data. The acquisition is export controlled and involves military technology, restricting participation to US contractors registered with the DLSC who provide a valid DD Form 2345. While the government intends to negotiate with a limited number of sources, interested parties may submit capability statements or proposals within 45 days of publication. An Ombudsman has been appointed to handle contractor concerns during the proposal phase, though they do not influence the final source selection. This is a non-commercial procurement, and award is contingent upon the offeror meeting all qualification requirements at the time of award.
