Solicitation SPRTA1-14-R-0272 is a firm fixed-price, fixed-quantity contract for the procurement of six Aircraft Duct Fans for the F100 Engine. These nickel alloy components, weighing 273 pounds, function as rear fan ducts to funnel inlet air for cooling and provide mounting for engine accessories. The requirement includes three contractor test first articles, with a final delivery deadline of November 25, 2015, for Foreign Military Sales. Qualified sources for this acquisition are limited to Pratt and Whitney and GKN, though other responsible sources may submit bids. The contract is subject to export controls and specific qualification requirements, and award decisions will be based on a combination of price and past performance. This procurement is not a small business set-aside and involves technology with military or space applications, meaning foreign owned firms must coordinate with the contracting officer regarding potential award restrictions.
