DLA Aviation, a Department of Defense agency, issued award notice SPE4A726R0129 for the procurement of gas T spark igniters under NAICS code 336412. The place of performance is located in Richmond, Virginia. While specific pricing, delivery schedules, and contract types are not detailed, the procurement is heavily governed by the Aviation Source Approval and Management Handbook, focusing on the qualification of suppliers through a rigorous Source Approval Request process. This process requires comprehensive documentation, including supplier brochures, quality history, and technical data to ensure the integrity of aviation critical safety items. The contract emphasizes strict quality assurance and traceability, requiring that all critical safety items be traceable from raw material to the final product. Suppliers must provide detailed inspection method sheets and process operation sheets, and personnel performing critical processes must be certified. Inspection and acceptance may occur at either the contractor's or the government's facility, with a shared responsibility model where the government retains oversight through Quality Assurance Specialists. Packaging and marking must adhere to written instructions and military standards to prevent deterioration and ensure proper identification, with a specific requirement for first-in, first-out practices for shelf-life items.
