DLA Land and Maritime is seeking potential manufacturers for a spur gear under NSN 3020-01-183-7286, part number 217158-1. Eaton Corp is currently the only approved source. Due to the specific AMC 3P designation, the government does not own the data rights required to purchase the part from additional sources, and reverse engineering is considered uneconomical. Interested companies wishing to become an approved source must submit an application package through the DLA Land and Maritime Alternate Offer/Source Approval Request program. The applicant is responsible for providing all technical data to prove their product meets or exceeds the quality of the original equipment manufacturer. All inquiries and submissions should be directed to Contract Specialist Alan Cooper.
