The Government intends to award a sole source purchase order to Applied Heat for nineteen phosphoric acid anodizing containment systems, which are commercial items to be used for training purposes and to ensure continuity with existing equipment. The new systems must match the anodizing containment systems currently in use at the training facility, as instructors and students are already familiar with these units. This procurement is being conducted without full and open competition, in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation Subpart 6.302-1 (a)(2)(ii), based on the determination that Applied Heat is the only responsible source capable of meeting the agency’s requirements. The decision to proceed with sole source procurement stems from the necessity to maintain equipment consistency following a prior best value acquisition. Applied Heat is located in Chandler, Arizona, and the contracting action will be managed by the 436 Contracting Squadron at Dover Air Force Base, Delaware. Interested parties or inquiries about this notice should be directed to 1Lt K.C. Newton via email, phone, or fax at the contact information provided. This notice is not a solicitation for competitive proposals, but a formal intent to award the contract directly to Applied Heat.
