36 -- Degausser

The Government intends to award a purchase order to Data Security Inc. for a HD-1T Degausser. The Government requires a chamber type degausser which has been tested to clear the highest capactiy hard disks (at 5000 oersteds) and the reserve capacity to clear future disks. The Degausser must be listed in the National Security Agency (NSA) Degausser Product List (DPL) as meeting these requirements. No other manufacturer is listed in the DPL as meeting these requirements. Potentially interested sources must have a Degausser listed in the NSA DPL list as an approved chamber type degausser. Interested sources that can establish this may submit this information to Lynn Fujimoto, Contracting Officer, via email at lynn.fujimoto@hickam.af.mil by 2:00 P.M. Hawaii Standard Time on 23 September 05. Information submitted in response to this notice will be used solely to determine whether or not the use of competitive procedures would be in the best interest of the Government. The Government will consider all responses but a determination by the Government not to compete this action is solely under the discretion of the Government. This notice is not a request for competitive quote.
