36--Watershock Transducers

ERDC Contracting Office intends to solicit on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to PCB Aerospace & Defense a PSB Piezotronics, 3425 Walden Avenue, Depew, NY 14043-2417 for Watershock Transducers. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirement. PCB Aerospace & Defense is the only known source capable of meeting the Governments requirements due to the compabtability of the PCB 13A model transducers with ERDC instrumentation systems and the only known source for underwater shock pressure measurements: Tourmaline ICP underwater blast sensor, 7.6length, 10k psi, 0.5mV/psi. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 2:00 p.m. CST on 24 June 2009. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. No RFP will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent.
