Contract No. FQ5176IFB No. FQ5176/RLS ADVANCE NOTICE Date of Invitation: March 3, 2008 Pre-Bid Conference: March 12, 2008 Bid Opening: March 26, 2008 Project Description: Replacement of Chilled Water Air Conditioning Units in Nine Stations located in Washington, D.C. Description of Work This is a Fixed Price contract for the items listed in the Unit Price Schedule. The work includes, but is not limited to: The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, supervision, project management, quality control, testing, transportation, safety, appurtenances and other items necessary for replacement of 34 chilled water air conditioning units in nine Metrorail stations as defined in the technical specifications. Air conditioning units range from 7,600 to 25,000 cfm. Work includes demolition and replacement of existing air conditioning units with accessories and controls, existing ductwork, fire and smoke dampers, smoke detectors, filters, motor starters, wiring, piping, and insulation. The period of performance is 1110 calendar days. The estimated cost range is between $5 and $10 million. The contract includes a DBE goal of 22.1% if the bid price is $500,000 or more. Contract Plans and Specifications: Copies of the contract plans and specifications will be available March 3, 2008 (Tentative), and furnished at the cost of $50 per copy.
