AI Contract Overview

The contract involves the procurement of four units of a safety head identified by NSN 1H-4470-011300027-X3, with delivery designated to two separate DLA distribution locations: New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, and Tracy, California. The contract is issued to A M S Network LLC based in Charlotte, North Carolina. This is a sole-source negotiation where the government intends to work with only one supplier due to the proprietary nature of the data and rights associated with the part. The government has determined that acquiring the data or rights to produce the part from other sources is not economically viable, nor is reverse engineering a practical option. Potential suppliers are invited to express interest and capability, or submit quotes prior to award, but competition is at the government's discretion based on the responses received. Relevant standards and specifications can be accessed through the DoD Single Stock Point or online via ASSIST-Online, although proprietary documents like patterns and drawings are not stocked by these sources. The procurement does not follow FAR Part 12 guidelines for commercial item acquisitions. The contracting office is the Navsup Weapon Systems Support Mech at Mechanicsburg, PA, with Peter Masters as the point of contact for inquiries.
