The Department of Defense, through the Navsup Weapon Systems Support Mech in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed price contract for the procurement of six flow control valves. The specific items are identified by part number EAOCM-1214NF2-3W and NSN 4810 014940919. Metrex Valve Corp, CAGE code 21013, has been identified as the intended sole source for this requirement under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The delivery terms are established as FOB Origin. This procurement is being handled as a sole source action because the Government does not possess the necessary data rights to contract the repair or purchase of these parts from other sources, and it has been determined that reverse engineering or purchasing the data rights would be uneconomical. While the government is not utilizing FAR Part 12 policies for commercial items, interested parties were given a window to identify their capability to satisfy the requirement. The solicitation is managed under number N0010424RLC20 and carries a DPAS rating of DO-A3.

Request for Information: Additive Manufacturing
Solicitation # N0010427RZ058
The Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support is conducting market research through Request for Information N0010427RZ058 to identify qualified sources capable of designing, producing, and delivering piece part components or entire assemblies using additive manufacturing methods. The government is specifically interested in vendors who can meet rigorous manufacturing, material, performance, testing, and quality assurance requirements. While the current focus is on a candidate list of National Item Identification Numbers for valves, actuators, and manifolds, the government anticipates that Level I and SUBSAFE items may become eligible for additive manufacturing in the future. Interested businesses must provide detailed administrative data, descriptions of their manufacturing capabilities, facility certifications such as ISO 9001 or AS9100, and evidence of past performance with similar military or commercial hardware. Additionally, the government is soliciting industry feedback on the development of objective evaluation criteria and the structuring of performance-based incentives for future Firm-Fixed-Price contracts. All produced components must be fully interchangeable with traditionally manufactured equivalents and strictly adhere to the baselines established in Project Peculiar Document 802-8436658.
