AI Contract Overview

The National Energy Technology Laboratory intends to award a sole source purchase order to Portland Valve and Fitting Company for tube fittings used in research projects. This decision is driven by safety concerns, as the OSTA Manager determined that mixing tube fitting components from different manufacturers could lead to leaks and tube slippage, posing a risk to personnel given the critical nature and cyclic conditions of the research applications. This notice serves as a sources sought announcement rather than a formal solicitation, and no contracts will be awarded based on offers received in response to the notice. Interested parties wishing to challenge the sole source intent must submit detailed capability statements to the designated point of contact by August 21, 2009. If no valid challenges are received by the deadline, the government reserves the right to proceed with the award without further competition.
