Solicitation # SPE4A227RX001
The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is conducting market research through a Sources Sought notice, solicitation number SPE4A227RX001, to identify potential sources for the new manufacture of various bearing components. The scope of work includes the procurement and manufacture of tapered roller bearings and ball bearings, encompassing the entire process from component procurement and inspection to testing, preservation, packaging, and shipping. Potential contractors may also be responsible for supply chain management, logistics planning, forecasting production requirements, and managing long-lead time parts or diminishing manufacturing sources and material shortage issues. The Timken Company is currently identified as the approved source of supply. While there is no formal solicitation or established pricing at this time, the government is evaluating potential sources based on their scope and scale, resource availability, and ability to implement a comprehensive project management plan. The final procurement method will be determined based on the market research results, which may lead to a small business set-aside or full and open competition. Interested parties must submit their organization details and tailored capability statements to Tekisha Bryan by November 5, 2026. Performance is expected to occur in Ohio under a performance-based service acquisition contract.
