U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking industry input to support the development of requirements for High Security Bolt Seals, integral to the Container Security Initiative (CSI) Program. The agency aims to partner with commercial manufacturers to leverage existing market capabilities by gathering detailed information about product features, manufacturing capacity, lead times, and compliance with ISO/PAS 17712 specifications. This Request for Information (RFI) is part of the initial planning phase and does not constitute a request for proposals or a contract award. CBP emphasizes confidentiality of responses and intends to use the input solely for refining future acquisition strategies. Respondents are requested to provide comprehensive details regarding their company, including contact information, organizational size, ISO certification, and experience manufacturing high security bolt seals. Specific areas of interest include the ability to produce seals with matching serial numbers on both components, anti-spinning technology, customized colors, secure packaging that prevents separation or out-of-sequence use, and supply chain security measures including employee background checks. Additionally, details on production capacity, delivery lead times, web-based ordering and tracking systems, payment methods such as Government Purchase Cards, and any environmental or regulatory concerns are requested.
