The US Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity intends to award a sole source contract to Smiths Detection for the procurement of four units of the GID-3 24/7 commercial CBRNE detection system, part number PC10683E. This equipment is designated for use at the Raven Rock Mountain Complex in Adams County, Pennsylvania. The justification for a sole source award rests on the fact that awarding the contract to any other supplier would cause significant delays, disrupt the ongoing detection capabilities, and increase overall costs to the Government. The procurement will be conducted under other than full and open competition procedures in accordance with FAR 6.302, recognizing that Smiths Detection is the only responsible source capable of meeting the agency's requirements. No solicitation number is assigned, but the reference for this action is PR W23L169160N800. This notice does not request competitive quotes; responses challenging the sole source determination must be submitted in writing within fifteen days from the notice’s publication, providing clear evidence that another source can meet the Government's needs and that competition would be beneficial. If no such response is received, the award will proceed without further notice. The designated point of contact for this contract action is Kevin Comegys, reachable via email at [email hidden].
