This contract action was accomplished using other than competitive procedures because there is only one responsible source as this is a follow-on contract, and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements (FAR 6.302-1). See posted J&A for further information. he Regional Contracting Office, Fort Richardson, Alaska, has issued a firm fixed price follow on sole source award to Federal Signal Corporation, 2645 Federal Signal Drive, University Park, IL 60466 under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 13.5, for Mass Notification Equipment. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Federal Signal Corporation is the only known source that offers mass notification equipment which is compatible with the existing proprietary Federal Signal Corporation integrated system on Fort Richardson (FRA) and Elmendorf Joint Mass Notification System. The Government acquired the commercial item in accordance with FAR Part 12. Federal Signal Corporation will supply the necessary design, implementation, and installation of a retrofit/tie-in, for two (2) Ultra Voice Individual Controller (s) (UVIC) with the Fort Richardson Mass Notification System (MNS) at the Education Center, Bldg 7 Chilkoot Ave, Fort Richardson, AK 99505 and Troop Barracks, Bldg 641 D Street, Fort Richardson, AK 99505. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 334290 and the size standard is 750 employees. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government. A solicitation will not be issued.
