The US Army Communications and Electronics Command intends to enter into a sole source, firm fixed price requirements contract for a three year period to procure the Radiac Set AN/PDR-77, identified by NSN 6665-01-347-6100. This specialized radiation monitoring and survey instrument is used to detect and measure radioactive contamination from alpha and X-ray emitting sources, including plutonium and uranium. The procurement is being pursued with Canberra Dover under the authority of 10 U.S.C 2304 (c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1(a)(1) because the government lacks the necessary technical data to purchase the item from other sources. While the agency anticipates a sole source award, it encourages any responsible firms capable of producing the required item to identify themselves and submit an offer. All solicitation documents and proposal submissions are handled electronically through the Interactive Interagency Business Opportunities Page, as hard copies are not provided. Interested parties should coordinate with the designated points of contact, Shante M. McGee or contracting officer Mary Paterno-Mihalko, for further information regarding this acquisition.
