The Government intends to purchase on a firm fixed-price basis and to solicit and negotiate the proposed purchase order on a sole source basis with Sunair Electronics for the item listed below, under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1. The required Sunair Tranceivers and Couplers are in support of the United States Air Force (USAF) Remote Radio Secure Voice System (RRSVS) Program, which is currently in the production stage. Due to extremely limited space within the vehicles, the radio equipment must not exceed 6 inches in height and not weigh over 50 pounds in order to fit within a 4U rack. At a height of 5.96 inches, weight of 49 pounds and output of 125 watts, the Sunair RT-9000A Radio System is the only product that satisfies all of the RRSVS specifications.
