This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, RI (NUWCDIVNPT) intends to award a Firm Fixed Price, Sole Source contract to Ultra Electronics Ocean Systems (Ultra), Braintree, MA. The NUWCDIVNPT requirement is for 27 DT-513D Hydrophones to be delivered 28 weeks after receipt of order. Ultra was the previous provider of this item under contract N66604-04-D-1243 and is the only vendor that is certified by NUWCDIVNPT to provide the DT-513D Hydrophones. This item is essential to fleet readiness, and the Government estimates based on past experience that the first article test, certification, and delivery of production units would take 30 months if the award were made to a vendor other than Ultra. This does not meet the Government’s required delivery schedule. This is a one-time buy until solicitation N66604-11-R-0679, which is the follow-on to N66604-04-D-1243, can be awarded. The NAICS is 334511; size standard is 750 Employees. The proposed contract action is for 27 DT-513D Hydrophones for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. The Govenment anticipates releasing the solicitation on or around 6/22/1. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. NOTE: This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A Determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. For information on this acquisition please contact Andrew Nagelhout at +1 (555) 000-0000 or contact@example.gov
