A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Responses received will be for the sole purpose of market research for future requirements. Under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP), Fish & Wildlife Services, Region 7 Contracting and General Services intends to issue a sole source, firm-fixed price order to: COMPANY: Lotek Wireless, Inc, DUNS: 251053377 FOR : $66,000.00 ON: 03/02/2018 NAICS: 334290 Other Communications Equipment Manufacturing AUTHORITY: 13.106(b) Soliciting from a single source Determinations not to compete this proposed procurement were made because: Lotek is the only company that currently manufactures GPS ARGOs tags suitable for small-medium sized birds. The PinPoint ARGOs 75 tag weighs 4.0 g and is capable of storing up to 100 GPS locations and transmitting these data to orbiting satellites. The devices are fully rechargeable and programmable. The US FWS has used this device on previous studies and it is critical to use the same devices to ensure direct comparability of data among studies.
