The Department of Veterans Affairs, through its Strategic Acquisition Center in Fredericksburg, Virginia, is seeking to establish a reliable nationwide supply chain for Desktop Video Magnification Devices to support visually impaired Veterans across all VA Medical Centers. This pre-solicitation notice, issued as a Special Notice under Solicitation Number 36C10G26Q0008 and classified under NAICS code 334220, is not a formal request for proposals but rather a market research effort to gauge industry interest, capability, and product availability. Vendors are required to respond by November 20, 2025, providing detailed information on their product offerings, including commercial market pricing, Federal Supply Schedule contract status if any, company size classification, and socioeconomic status. The Government has identified two primary categories of interest: standard Desktop Video Magnifiers ranging from 11 to 27 inches in screen size and enhanced models featuring multi-distance viewing capabilities that support self-viewing, near, intermediate, and distant tasks. Each vendor must submit product documentation for all models and physically demonstrate three to four units during an upcoming Industry Day, which will include an oral presentation lasting 1 to 1.5 hours addressing technical features, accessories such as X-Y tables, remote controls, mounting options, camera configurations, and performance capabilities like auto-focus, contrast ratio, color modes, and refresh rate. In addition to product demonstration, vendors must confirm their ability to provide in-home delivery, setup, and same-day training for Veterans, with warranty and repair logistics clearly outlined. The evaluation process will be informed by vendor participation in this Industry Day, though no formal award criteria, contract type, or pricing structure has been established at this stage. All submissions must be sent via email to designated VA point of contacts, and no formal contract clauses, packaging standards, inspection procedures, or delivery schedules are binding until a subsequent solicitation is issued. The ultimate goal is to ensure consistent availability of high-quality, user-focused technology across the entire VA healthcare system.
