The Department of Veterans Affairs, through the Strategic Acquisition Center Fredericksburg, has issued a Request for Information (RFI) under solicitation number 36C10G26Q0047 to gather market intelligence on Desktop Video Magnification Devices for visually impaired veterans. This RFI is strictly for planning and informational purposes and does not constitute a solicitation, offer, or commitment to award a contract. Responses must be submitted by February 11, 2026, via email to the designated Contract Specialist, Tessa Smith, and are to be treated as business confidential government property with no obligation for the government to respond to inquiries or return submissions. The procurement aims to establish a reliable nationwide supply chain for assistive video magnification devices under NAICS code 334220, ensuring consistent availability across VA Medical Centers. The technical requirements specify desktop units with monitor sizes ranging from 16 to 27 inches, magnification capabilities between 2.5x and 60x, 1080p resolution, 60fps refresh rate, 24-bit color depth, and intuitive controls accessible in one or two steps. Devices must include a 2-year warranty covering parts, labor, and shipping, along with 24/7 live technical support featuring a prominently labeled phone number in bold, large print. The contractor must deliver and set up devices in the veteran’s home within 10 business days of order receipt, provide loaner units within 10 days of reported failure, and manage all return logistics including packaging and coordination with VA mail offices. While CLINs are referenced for product variants—including small, full, and enhanced models with OCR and multi-distance viewing—they do not include pricing or quantities, as no formal acquisition is underway. The RFI explicitly excludes any requirement for FAR clauses, evaluation factors, payment details, invoicing methods, or barcoding standards, and no FOB terms, accounting codes, or military specifications are provided. All responses must be submitted without cost to the respondent, and the government reserves the right to proceed with, modify, or cancel any future procurement based on the feedback received.
