This contract concerns the limited acquisition of an unstable electronic contact component (NSN 5999-017209623) under solicitation N0038326QQA06 by Navsup Weapon Systems Support, a Department of the Navy office in Philadelphia, PA. The order requires three units, delivery FOB Origin, and is designated as flight critical, meaning any supplier must have prior government source approval due to the incomplete or insufficient technical data available for open competition. The current design exhibits low process yield and marginal performance, triggering anticipated major changes that will render this iteration obsolete, so only repairs or limited acquisitions from already-approved sources are expected until new configuration changes are implemented. The contract is not being handled as a commercial item acquisition, and is being solicited only among sources previously approved for this item because approval for new sources takes significant time and could risk timely fleet support. Unapproved vendors may submit for consideration but must provide full documentation per NAVSUP WSS Source Approval guidelines; incomplete submissions will be disregarded. Any proposals from other interested parties will only be considered to determine if competitive procurement is feasible, but immediate awards will prioritize pre-qualified sources to sustain operational readiness. All relevant technical standards and specifications are available through standard DoD document services, though proprietary drawings and deviation lists are not stocked centrally. The primary point of contact for this solicitation is Jessica L. Harpel at Navsup Weapon Systems Support.
