The Air Force intends to award a sole source, three-year requirements contract for the production of the Commercial Central Interface Unit (CCIU), which serves as a form, fit, and function replacement for the Advanced Central Interface Unit (ACIU) used in Block 25/30/32 F-16 aircraft. The contract will be awarded exclusively to EFW, Inc., the only source that maintains the necessary engineering and technical data required to manufacture the unit. The contract includes production quantities of 110 units in the first year and 281 units in each of the second and third years. Beyond manufacturing, the contractor will also be responsible for providing a technical data package to support the development of technical orders and compliance directives, operational flight program integration, avionics software support, data analysis, procurement of test and manufacturing equipment, and configuration management. This announcement is for informational and planning purposes and does not constitute a commitment or a Request for Proposal by the Government. Although EFW, Inc. is the sole intended contractor, other sources with the capability to obtain the necessary technical and engineering data from EFW and demonstrate their manufacturing ability within 15 days of the notice publication may submit capability information for consideration. Small businesses interested in subcontracting opportunities are encouraged to contact the prime contractor. The Government emphasizes that registration in the Central Contractor Registration database is required for contract award and payment eligibility. Key government contacts and an acquisition ombudsman have been designated to address inquiries and concerns, with the ombudsman serving as a confidential mediator if contractor issues arise during proposal development.
