The National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC) plans to award a sole source, firm fixed price purchase order to Aeroflex Plainview Inc. for the repair of two FS5000 Comstron Frequency Synthesizers. Aeroflex Plainview is uniquely qualified to perform this work because the electronic circuitry in these synthesizers is proprietary and can only be serviced by them. This sole source acquisition is justified under FAR 6.302-1, which applies when only one responsible source is available. Although this notice is not a request for quotes, the government will consider any capability statements and quotes received within five calendar days after publication, primarily to determine whether to pursue a competitive procurement in the future. All interested parties must be registered in the System for Acquisition Management (SAM) prior to award and are invited to submit responses to Mr. Richard Paul at the provided email address. NGIC does not intend to reimburse any costs related to the preparation of responses. The agency retains full discretion to decide whether or not to open the procurement for competition based on the information received. The solicitation, listed under NAICS code 334419, is issued by the Department of Defense through the W00Y Contracting Office in Charlottesville, VA.
