The Department of Defense, through the Navsup Weapon Systems Support Mech, intends to award a sole-source contract to DRS Training and Controls for 64 photo sensors under NSN 1H-5985-015995173-X3 and TDP Version 003. This procurement is being conducted under the authority of 41 USC 1901 and FAR 13.501(a) because the required items are highly specialized parts manufactured by a non-government activity, and the necessary technical data is unavailable from other sources. Deliveries for these components will be made to various destinations. While the government intends to proceed with a sole-source award, the notice allows other responsible parties to submit proposals, quotations, or capability statements within 10 days of publication to demonstrate their interest and ability to meet the requirement. The government maintains full discretion over whether to conduct a competitive procurement based on the responses received. This solicitation follows the commercial test program procedures outlined in FAR Part 13.5.
