This contract involves the procurement of two units of a TDP version 001 part, designated by NSN 7H-5945-016602970, to be delivered to the DLA Distribution center in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania. The part's design is currently unstable, with engineering and manufacturing challenges indicating that the existing design has not met performance objectives. Significant modifications are anticipated, which will render the current version obsolete, and limited repair or acquisition from the present source is expected until the design is finalized. The solicitation emphasizes the importance of including the company's cage code in requests and provides guidance on accessing relevant military and federal specifications, standards, and documents through official channels such as DODSSP and ASSIST-Online. The government intends to negotiate solely with a single source under FAR 6.302-1, but all responsible firms are encouraged to express their interest and capability to meet the requirement. This notice does not constitute a competitive solicitation, and the decision to proceed with a sole-source contract rests with the government. Although the procurement is not conducted under FAR Part 12 policies, interested small businesses are invited to identify their ability to provide a commercial item matching the requirement within 15 days. The contract is managed by the Department of Defense’s Naval Supply Systems Support Office in Mechanicsburg, PA, with a point of contact available via email and phone for further inquiries.
