The operation is scheduled to commence around September 1, 2026, with both delivery and redelivery taking place in San Diego, California. A critical technical requirement is the vessel must be equipped with a 20-foot door to accommodate CV-22 and MV-22 aircraft, and the vessel’s main deck height must exceed 7 feet 5 inches to ensure militarily useful cargo space is accurately assessed.
