61--3989 SRAO MICROWAVE BATTERY REPLACEMENT

The Department of the Interior, through the Pacific Northwest Region, is soliciting a total small business set-aside contract under NAICS 335910 for the procurement of two 48VDC microwave battery systems. The contractor is required to furnish two Valve-Regulated Lead-Acid (VRLA) battery banks that are hermetically sealed, maintenance-free, and station-type, with a minimum capacity of 1900 Ah at a 100-hour discharge rate. Each system must include modular battery racks with mounting brackets and bases not exceeding 42 inches long by 25 inches deep, as well as necessary accessories such as straps and terminal covers. All battery cells must be housed in sealed, leakproof, and explosion-resistant containers featuring self-resealing safety vent plugs. The equipment must be delivered to the Black Canyon Dam in Emmett, Idaho, with deliveries and pickups restricted to Monday through Thursday between 8 am and 3 pm, excluding federal holidays. While the government is responsible for the installation of the new systems, the contractor is responsible for the removal and recycling of the old lead-acid batteries in accordance with 40 CFR Part 266. Following the removal, the contractor must provide detailed documentation specifying the weight of materials recycled and those not recycled.
