The Department of Defense, through the Navsup Weapon Systems Support Mechanicsburg, is managing the repair and modification of battery assemblies under solicitation N0010425QUA04. The primary scope involves the teardown, evaluation, and repair of battery assemblies, specifically NIIN 017190695, to a like new condition. While initial requirements specified 18 units, Amendment 0001 increased the quantity for item O001AA to 21 units. Additionally, the government has issued a notice of intent to add further testing work for one 7B Battery to a sole source vendor. This specific action is not a request for proposal but a notice to determine if a competitive procurement is necessary. The North American Industry Classification System Code for this effort is 335911. Interested parties are directed to coordinate with Leigh Catchings for responses regarding the intent to sole source the additional testing requirements.

Request for Information: Additive Manufacturing
Solicitation # N0010427RZ058
The Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support is conducting market research through Request for Information N0010427RZ058 to identify qualified sources capable of designing, producing, and delivering piece part components or entire assemblies using additive manufacturing methods. The government is specifically interested in vendors who can meet rigorous manufacturing, material, performance, testing, and quality assurance requirements. While the current focus is on a candidate list of National Item Identification Numbers for valves, actuators, and manifolds, the government anticipates that Level I and SUBSAFE items may become eligible for additive manufacturing in the future. Interested businesses must provide detailed administrative data, descriptions of their manufacturing capabilities, facility certifications such as ISO 9001 or AS9100, and evidence of past performance with similar military or commercial hardware. Additionally, the government is soliciting industry feedback on the development of objective evaluation criteria and the structuring of performance-based incentives for future Firm-Fixed-Price contracts. All produced components must be fully interchangeable with traditionally manufactured equivalents and strictly adhere to the baselines established in Project Peculiar Document 802-8436658. Responses are due by October 22, 2026.
