This contract, solicitation number SPRTA1-14-R-0386, concerns the procurement of generator stators and housing assemblies designed to provide three phase electrical output for aircraft. The requirement is split between new manufactured materials and surplus items, with a target quantity of 18 units each, though the range allows for a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 27. The components are constructed from magnesium, copper, steel, and aluminum, with a delivery deadline of January 15, 2015, to destination SW3211 in Oklahoma. The government has designated this as a sole source procurement awarded to Safran, formerly known as Goodrich, under FAR 6.302 due to the complexity and criticality of the parts. Only manufacturers who have completed specific design testing or demonstrated capability with similar items are eligible. While the government is not utilizing commercial item policies for this acquisition, an Ombudsman has been appointed to handle contractor concerns during the proposal phase.
