The Department of Veterans Affairs Great Lakes Acquisition Center issued a Sources Sought notice under solicitation 36C25219Q0203 to identify capable small businesses for a security upgrade to the KeyWatcher system at the Tomah VA Medical Center in Wisconsin. The project required the procurement of touch screen security upgrades, card reader installations, and system set-up and training for three specific out-of-warranty units to ensure compliance with VA Security Standards. Because the system is integrated with the VA Network and an existing alarm system, the government required equipment and software fully compatible with the existing KeyWatcher infrastructure. To maintain quality and warranty standards, the government strictly prohibited the use of gray market or remanufactured items, requiring vendors to be Original Equipment Manufacturers or authorized distributors. The requirement fell under NAICS code 334519 for Other Measuring and Controlling Device Manufacturing. This procurement resulted in award number 36C25219P0370, granted to Hoffman Security Solutions LLC on January 9, 2019, for a total contract value of 19,226.00 dollars.
