The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Network Contracting Office 17, plans to award a firm-fixed price standing-order contract to Cepheid for a 12-month period to supply specific reagents and consumables compatible with the Cepheid GeneXpert Infinity Analyzer. The items include various test kits for infectious diseases such as flu, tuberculosis, MRSA, and C. difficile, as well as collection kits and swabs. The sole-source justification is based on the proprietary nature of Cepheid's reagents, which are the only products compatible with the existing testing equipment utilized by the agency. This procurement will be conducted under an open market pricing agreement, with the statutory authority to bypass full and open competition due to the unique compatibility requirement. Although this notice is not a solicitation for quotations or proposals, interested suppliers may submit capability statements or offers, which will be reviewed to determine if any alternative sources exist that may be more advantageous to the government. If no responses are received within five days, the contract will proceed with Cepheid without further notification. Vendors are instructed to communicate directly with the designated point of contact via email, as the standard Federal Business Opportunities registration and vendor list are not applicable for responses.
