The Department of Veterans Affairs, through its Network Contracting Office 10, plans to award a firm-fixed price contract on a sole source basis to Carefusion Solutions, LLC for the supply, installation, and implementation of Medication Storage Carousels at the VA Northern Indiana Health Care System in Marion, Indiana. The decision to sole source is justified by the proprietary nature of the Carefusion carousels and their exclusive compatibility with the existing hardware and software systems used by the VA, making Carefusion the only capable provider for this integration. The contract requires completion of delivery and installation within 120 days of award and falls under the NAICS code 339113 with a business size standard of 750 employees. This notice serves as an intent to sole source rather than a solicitation, and no competitive quotes or proposals are being requested at this time. However, interested parties may submit evidence supporting why competition could be beneficial to the government, provided in detail and at no cost. Responses must be submitted by the specified deadline and directed to the designated VA contact via email, with telephone inquiries not accepted. This approach underscores the government's discretion to forego competition based on the unique product and compatibility requirements critical to the VA's operational needs.
