Page 4 of 4 This Sources Sought/Market Survey Notice is being conducted by the Network Contracting Office (NCO) 16 at 2002 Holcombe Blvd. Bldg. 100, Houston, Texas 77030 to identify sources that are capable of providing a Navigation System Stealthstation at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center (MEDVAMC), 2002 Holcombe Blvd. Building #100; Houston, Texas 77030. Contractor shall be an authorized Contractor, with trained technicians, and possess licenses and certifications, if required, for the installation and delivery of the Navigation System Stealthstation Draft Specification Requirements. Background: A Navigation System Stealthstation is needed for ENT to replace the current one being used in the OR that is at its end of life. A trade in credit may be requested. The Oto-HNS service provides a wide variety of rhinology services of varying complexity, including anterior skull base surgery for benign and malignant tumors. Intra-operative image guidance has become standard of care for complex revision endoscopic sinus surgery, surgery involving the frontal sinus and surgery of the anterior skull base. This conversion which is more than 10 years old is supported by literature which demonstrates lower rates of intra-operative complications when using image guidance. This comprises the justification for image guidance availability. Image-based intra-operative navigation systems are routinely updated in order to provide better fidelity to patient anatomy and compatibility with associated instrumentation. At the present time, the existing navigation system requires an upgrade in order to maintain parity with changing industry standards and standard of care practice. This will provide not only a qualitative improvement in technology but will also address the technical problems which have developed with the current instrumentation over the last 3-4 years requiring frequent maintenance and repair.
