The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System is seeking to procure the Nanosonics Trophon 2 Ultrasound Probe System to address the needs of multiple departments that use ultrasound probes, including the GU clinic, radiology, operating room, women's health, and the IV team. The current system has issues with probe turnover and a prolonged, complex disinfecting process that poses risks for improper performance. The Trophon 2 system is highlighted as the first high-level disinfection system effective against human papillomavirus (HPV) transmission, improving safety by preventing staff exposure to hazardous chemicals like Cidex OPA. The VA has requested interested entities to submit their brand name information or an authorized distributor letter by June 28, 2019, referencing the Source Sought Notice 36C24419Q0805. The Trophon 2 system must meet specific electrical and environmental specifications, including a rated mains input voltage of 100-120V AC, input current of 6 Amp at 50/60 Hz, and connection via an IEC type C13 power inlet to an earthed outlet. It supports data communication through Ethernet (RJ45) and USB Type A ports. Operating temperatures range from 17 to 27 degrees Celsius, with storage and transport conditions between -20 and 60 degrees Celsius. The device weighs approximately 22 kg unpacked and measures 535mm by 360mm by 317mm. It complies with electromagnetic emission standards EN61326-1:2013, ensuring limited electromagnetic interference. This procurement effort is not a request for quotes but a solicitation to confirm authorized distributors for the specified Trophon 2 system.
