65--Notice of Intent for Sole Source for Various Orthopedic Surgical Implants and Supplies

The MEDCOM Western Regional Contracting Office in Tacoma, WA plans to issue a sole source contract to Tornier, Inc. for approximately $100,000 to supply various surgical implant products. These implants will be utilized in patient-specific surgeries as directed by surgeons in the Department of Orthopedics/Operating Room at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, Fort Bliss, TX. The use of these products is contingent upon a surgeon’s determination that they best fulfill the medical needs of individual patients. All products supplied must be FDA-approved to ensure safety and effectiveness. This announcement serves as a notice of intent and is not a solicitation. Although no formal proposal requests will be issued, other firms that believe they can meet the supply requirements are encouraged to submit documentation supporting their products’ capabilities and specifications for consideration in future acquisitions. The procurement process will follow the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, applying Simplified Acquisition Procedures to streamline the acquisition.
