MEDCOM's Western Regional Contracting Office in Tacoma, WA plans to award a firm fixed price contract valued at $57,199.40 to MiniXray Inc for the purchase of a radiographic system. This system is a critical diagnostic tool mandated by the VETCOM Veterinary Medical Standardization Board. Although the equipment is available through the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia under an existing contract, it is not listed in the ECAT catalog, and MiniXray Inc is the sole provider able to supply this standardized system. The procurement is being conducted under sole-source authority per FAR 6.302-1, meaning the government intends to negotiate only with this vendor. While this notice is not a request for competition, the government welcomes responses from other interested parties within 45 days (or 30 days if the award is under an existing basic ordering agreement) to determine whether a competitive procurement is warranted. However, the government retains full discretion in deciding whether to pursue a competitive process after evaluating any submissions. The purchase falls under the NAICS code 423450 and reflects a one-time acquisition to meet essential veterinary diagnostic needs.
