The Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 6 plans to negotiate a sole source purchase order with Neuwave Medical, Inc. for the acquisition of six units each of three specific Neuwave Ablation probe models—PR15, PR20, and LK15. These probes are specially designed to be compatible with the Certus 140 Microwave Ablation System currently in use at the VA Hunter Holmes McGuire Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia. The contract falls under NAICS code 339113, which pertains to Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing, and the purchase is aimed to remain within the simplified acquisition threshold following applicable FAR guidelines. This sole source procurement is justified because the exclusive probes required are only available from Neuwave Medical, with no identified authorized distributors. While this notice is not a solicitation for competitive bids, other capable suppliers may submit a capability statement by the specified deadline. The final decision to execute a sole source contract will be made at the government's discretion based on any responses received. The contract emphasizes the critical nature of compatibility and supply continuity for the VA facility’s existing medical equipment system.
