VA FSS # V797P-2082D. This proposed procurement is for items which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than September 21, 2012, noon EST. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. The following verbiage is taken directly from the Justification and Approval for sole source and is posted in accordance with FAR 5.102(a)(6): The Leica Biosystem M525 F40 Surgical Microscope System is the only microscope system compatible with the Leica M651 Surgical Microscope currently in use for the Surgical Residency Training Program. The Leica Biosystem M525 F40 Surgical Microscope System is the only source which can meet the need of the Agency. This requirement is for the Military Treatment Facility located at Travis AFB.
