Page 1 of 1 Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) National Activations Office (NAO) May 15, 2019 SPECIAL NOTICE NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE VOLUMETRIC INFUSION PUMPS (PACKAGE NO. 85) RFI NUMBER 36A77619Q0113 This acquisition is in support of the activation of the new Veterans Affairs Nebraska-Western Iowa Healthcare System (VA NWIHS) Ambulatory Care Center. The Ambulatory Care Center requires new, volumetric infusion pump systems for the Ambulatory Surgery departments. The VA NWIHS, Omaha, NE requires Alaris Carefusion infusion pumps, pump modules, and software in support of the activation of the new Ambulatory Care Center. The Alaris system is utilized for drug delivery for patients throughout the medical center. The system has software for the updates to the drug formulary or library, pump module maintenance, and for quality reporting for pump and system statuses. The Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC), National Activations Office (NAO) intends to issue a sole source solicitation to Carefusion Solutions, LLC; 3750 TORREY VIEW COURT, SAN DIEGO, CA 92130-2635 requesting Alaris brand volumetric infusion pumps, the Alaris 8100 volume pump modules, and the Guardrails point-of-care software for PC and pump modules. This procurement is for a Sole Source (Brand Name) Justification in accordance with FAR 13.106(b), where acquisitions conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, but still require a justification using the format of FAR 6.303-2. The NAICS code for this procurement is 339113 and the Small Business Administration Size Standard is 750 employees. This notice of intent to is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirements may submit a quotation with manufacturer cut sheets, which may be considered by the agency, only if received by the closing date and time of this notice. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
