65--Podiatry Laser

The Government hereby issues its notice of intent to sole source to Cutera, Inc. for the purchase of a podiatry laser for Salem Veteran Medical Center (VAMC). It was determined that the laser provided is the only laser that can provide a 1mm and 5mm spot that penetrates the nail significantly. The 5mm spot, it eliminates the need for multiple passes of the laser, decreasing the amount of treatment time and duration of the LASER (decreases chance of tissue damage by burns). Crutera, Inc. is the only source that can provide the requested supplies without substantial duplication of cost and delays to the Government. This Notice of Intent is not a request for Expressions of Interest (EOIs), proposals or quotations. No solicitation document exists. No contract award will be made on the basis of EOIs, proposals or quotations received in response to this notice. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement, and should furnish detailed data concerning their capabilities to provide the services sought including pricing data and technical data sufficient enough to determine that a comparable source to the Government is available. The Government will be the sole determiner regarding an offeror's ability to meet all requirements. EOIs shall be submitted no later than 4:30 p.m., August 14, 2013 EST to: contact@example.gov or Fax: +1 (555) 000-0000 all questions shall be submitted via email. No phone questions will be answered. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This purchase will be under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition as authorized under FAR 6.302-1.
