The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Network Contracting Office 17, plans to award a firm-fixed-price contract to The Binding Site for a reagents agreement involving the Optilite System and related equipment, maintenance services, consumables including reagents, controls, and supplies necessary for system operation, as well as training. The contract covers the delivery of specific diagnostic reagents used for testing kappa and lambda free light chains, essential for disease detection and diagnosis in patients. Key components include the Optilite System with accessories such as a computer, UPS, and printer, along with various reagents and consumables to be ordered as needed over the contract period. Delivery is required at the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System, Olin Teague VA Medical Center in Temple, TX, with options to extend the agreement for up to four additional 12-month periods. This sole source procurement is justified by The Binding Site’s analyzer being the only FDA-approved platform for testing free kappa and lambda light chains in the United States. The procurement will be awarded through an open market pricing agreement solely to The Binding Site unless a timely, competitive proposal demonstrating comparable capabilities and advantages is received within five days of the notice publication. The contract will be awarded under the authority permitting non-competitive contracts when only one responsible source exists. Interested vendors must respond directly to the designated point of contact via email, as responses submitted elsewhere, such as the Interested Vendors List tab, will not be considered, and the government will not cover any costs associated with response preparation.
