The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to enter into a sole source contract with American Purchasing Services, LLC, doing business as American Medical Depot, for the procurement of four SDC3 Base units with DICOM Kits. These systems, identified by part number 999179103, are designed for capturing images and videos during endoscopic procedures at the Chalmers P. Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center in Columbus, Ohio. A critical requirement for this procurement is that the new equipment must be fully compatible with the facility's existing Stryker HD video system. This procurement is being conducted under NAICS code 423450 and follows FAR 6.302 guidelines, as the government has identified American Medical Depot as the only authorized distributor capable of meeting the agency's specific technical requirements. While the government intends to proceed with a sole source negotiation, interested firms were given until September 3, 2014, to provide written notification and supporting evidence of their ability to comply with the requirements. The final determination to compete the procurement remains at the sole discretion of the government.
