The government plans to award a sole source delivery order for a service and maintenance agreement on two Pharmassist devices, manufactured by Innovation Associates, Inc., located in Johnson City, NY. This agreement is essential to ensure the proper functioning of the equipment, which supports the mission requirements of the 55th Medical Group at Offutt Air Force Base. The acquisition will be done through other than full and open competition under FAR Subpart 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii) because Innovation Associates is the original developer and the only authorized service provider capable of meeting the agency’s needs. The contract will likely be a firm-fixed-price GSA Schedule order with a performance period from October 1, 2006, through September 30, 2007. This sole source procurement is justified by the fact that no other suppliers or services can satisfy the agency’s requirements. The timely award of this contract is critical to maintain operational readiness at Ehrling Bergquist Clinic and associated satellite pharmacies. The procurement is overseen by the 55th Contracting Squadron and does not seek competitive proposals. Questions regarding the procurement can be directed to SSgt Jason King via email or fax.
