The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a sole source firm-fixed contract to BioMerieux, Inc. for the Myla® System at the Louisville VA Medical Center. This procurement is justified as the Myla system operates in conjunction with BioMerieux’s existing instruments including Vitek 2, Vidas 3, and BacTalert, serving as the middleware solution that integrates lab instrument results with the laboratory information system (LIS). The Myla system uses web-based technology to provide a single access point for multiple instruments, streamlining interfacing tasks and replacing a VA-mandated soon-to-be-discontinued type 3 software. It supports multiple input sources and features a dashboard for managing testing menus and reporting, which aligns with the center’s needs for improved patient treatment workflows. Although this notice is not a solicitation for competitive bids, interested parties may submit their interest and capability by the specified deadline. The Government retains discretion over whether to proceed with competition based on responses received and is not obligated to award a contract or provide feedback to respondents. The contract scope centers on acquiring the Myla system exclusively from BioMerieux to maintain compatibility with existing diagnostic instruments and enhance laboratory system efficiencies at Louisville VA Medical Center. The procurement process is designed to ensure uninterrupted patient diagnostic support and compliance with upcoming technology mandates.
