The Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Olympus America, Inc. for the supply of specialized medical equipment and accessories used in their Medical Service. The items include various Olympus-manufactured cables, monitors, light sources, video system centers, printers, workstations, autoclavable camera heads, remote cables, and keyboards, all needed to support medical operations at the Cleveland VAMC. The procurement will be made utilizing an existing GSA contract, and the government has determined that only Olympus America, Inc. can fulfill these requirements, thus proposing a sole source negotiation under FAR 8.405-6(B)(1), which allows access to proprietary information. Interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to submit their capabilities by a specified deadline, after which the government will decide whether to open the procurement to competition. This notification does not represent a formal solicitation; rather, it serves as a notice of intent, with all inquiries to be directed via email to the specified contact person. The procurement aligns with federal regulations prioritizing government supply sources and specifically emphasizes that the decision to pursue a sole source contract rests entirely with the government.
