The Department of Veterans Affairs, through Network Contracting Office 9, intends to award a Firm Fixed Priced contract on a sole-source basis to Hill-Rom, Inc. for the provision of a TruSystem 7000dv interactive Operating Room Table. This table is specifically required by the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System's Nashville Surgery Department for immediate use to support their two da Vinci Xi Surgical Systems, facilitating robotic-assisted surgeries. The TruSystem 7000dv table offers integrated motion capabilities that synchronize with the da Vinci robot, allowing dynamic patient repositioning to optimize surgical access and efficiency. The contract period will last seven calendar days following issuance of the notice to proceed, emphasizing the urgent need to avoid unnecessary delays. Due to the proprietary nature of the TruSystem 7000dv table, which Hill-Rom has supplied since 2018, the VA is pursuing a non-competitive award under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). However, the notice allows for potential competition if other vendors can clearly demonstrate the availability of a comparable digital scanning or operating room table system able to meet the facility’s exacting requirements. Responses must be submitted within three calendar days following publication, but the decision to open competition remains at the government’s discretion. The applicable NAICS code is 339113, with a size standard of 750 employees, and the contract is managed through the VA’s Network Contracting Office 9 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, with Elishia Lannom as the contracting specialist point of contact.
